Wayne is 39 years old, and his journey to recovery began in 2001 whern he realised for the first time that his addiction had spiralled out of control and that he was in desperate need of help.
Through his struggles and victories over the course of the past 20 years, Wayne has gained invaluable insight into the cunning, powerful and baffling nature of addiction.
Through this experience, Wayne has developed a passion for assisting others struggling with addiction and finds deep satisfaction in using his understanding of this disease to help others find their way to recovery.
Wayne has worked as a lay counsellor at a rehab facility for 4 years. It was during this period that he found true purpose in journeying with others grappling with this affliction.
Wayne finds joy in witnessing people’s lives transformed, and counts it an absolute privilege to be able to contribute to this.
‘I can only keep what I have by giving it away’.
Wayne is married to a wonderful woman and is father to 2 wonderful children as well as a few fur kids.
He is an eternal optimist, always believing in the best possible outcome. He counts his blessings and lives each day ‘just for today’.
